Improved Interference Alignment Precoding for the MIMO X Channel
The authors derive a linear transmit precoding scheme based on interference alignment at the transmitters and zero-forcing at the receivers for the MIMO X channel. It is based on the Generalized Singular Value Decomposition (GSVD) and attains the outer bound on the Degrees of Freedom (DoF) region for any antenna configuration. Additionally, the proposed scheme is able to enhance the transmission rate in terms of SNR offset. The major challenge addressed by researchers in the field of wireless communications is the design of efficient multiuser transmission techniques to deal with the scarcity of resources in the wireless medium.
