Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a very attractive technique for high-data-rate transmission in wireless and wired applications. The main drawback of the OFDM technique is its high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). Several approaches exist to reduce PAPR of OFDM symbols. Precoding is a new method which is having less complexity compared to the other power reduction techniques and also it can reduce PAPR considerably and results in no distortion. Error control coding (convolution coding is used here) can also be introduced along with the precoding technique in order to improve the bit error rate performance.
