Improvement of a Bidirectional Switch for Electric Network

Executive Summary

This paper suggest a new behaviour for a bipolar bidirectional switch for network application. The paper uses two high current gain bipolar power transistors, based on TBSBT, one to control the forward current, and the second one to short-circuit the complementary diode, thus, for the first time, significantly decrease its power dissipation. For that, one must improve the power transistor's reverse current gain.
