Executive Summary

Gregorio Maranon University General Hospital (HGUGM), a pioneer in mobile healthcare platforms, has developed and implemented a Mobile Point of Care (MPoC) solution in its Cardiology Unit. This pilot scheme has improved the daily care hospitalised patients receive, optimised workflows and enabled physicians to spend more time with each patient, as well as pursue other activities that deliver value. This shows the use of mobile platforms is the way forward in modernising existing health systems; improving the quality, efficiency and safety of services delivered; as well as indicating the value of investing in Healthcare IT (HIT).
