This paper discussed the configuration of squid proxy server and how to improve the performance of the squid proxy server by using the various methods and techniques. As internet users, N/W administrators know that the Squid is a web caching proxy server for the supporting HTTPS, HTTP, File Transfer Protocols, and many more. It saves the bandwidth and advance the response times by caching and repeatedly using frequently-requested web sites. Squid proxy server has wide-ranging access controls and it delivers squid proxy server as great server accelerator. It runs on Linux and Windows platforms and is licensed under the GNU GPL.
