This paper proposes a novel fingerprint recognition model to accelerate the process of fingerprint verification in a distributed environment improving matching efficiency. Incremental Fingerprint Recognition Model (IFRM) divides a minutiae-based matching into a few sub-matching rounds. Each round takes an optimized subset of the whole minutiae as input according to the quality of extracted minutia, and then outputs a matching score. If this score exceeds the expected threshold, matching decision is made to accept the identity and ignore the rest of minutiae in the query set.
