Executive Summary

In the author's point of view, intelligent database can be viewed as illustrated in the paper. Intelligence can be applied in more than one area within database systems. Intelligence features were not presented in presentation layer; because presentation layer is believed to be out of scope for database systems. Intelligence cannot be added to database files. Files will always be files, no intelligence features can be added to them. Intelligence features can affect systems that manage files, but files: no. intelligence can be added to DBMSs in providing intelligent ways for performing functions. DBMSs must not perform those functions in intelligent ways. Intelligence components that provide rich user experience can be added to database systems. Those added components are not considered DBMSs' components.
