The IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) as network controller includes effective mechanisms for new services, regardless of the access technology. The network regroups all existing access IP-based technologies that unify access and minimize costs of service deployment. However, such architecture poses significant security challenges at network access and services providing. Indeed, the diversity of technologies used and entities included in the IMS control as well as user mobility and type of deployed services increase the risks and issues related to security. Thus, the paper proposes a state of the art of the IMS network security. The authors' focus is to highlight the most critical attacks at protocol level and access layer.
