Power-combining technique is one of the most important ways to realize solid-state sources and amplifiers at millimeter-wave frequencies. RF power levels that currently cannot be achieved by a single MMIC device. In order to achieve enough output power level, high-efficiency power combiners with broad bandwidth and good thermal property are presented .The waveguide-based power combiner is preferred to coaxial- or planar-type structures at millimeter-wave frequency. This type of combiners also offer compact size, accommodate more devices and associated biasing circuitry, antennas, and thermal management issues. Closed waveguide combiners, where power combining finished inside the waveguide, are more attractive for practical use.
