Directory services are the epicenter of most IT operations. They allow organizations to centralize information about users and computing resources. As a network-based repository, directory services consolidate resources, simplify system management, and reduce support and administration costs. At the same time, they enable users to access enterprise resources from anywhere on the network. IT organizations have been challenged with integrating all of their desktop, notebook, and server systems - including a growing number of Mac systems - into a single directory infrastructure. To better support Mac users while leveraging existing directory systems traditionally established for Windows-based PCs, organizations can easily integrate their Mac systems into Active Directory (AD).
