Given the importance of measurement and analysis in decision making, organizations need to ensure their data, analyses, and corresponding reports are of high quality and meet the information needs of practitioners and managers. Yet, organizations often have no method for evaluating the quality of their measurement and analysis infrastructure and have very little trust in their own data. Ensuring information quality is a challenge for most organizations - partly because they may not be fully aware of their own data quality levels. Without this information, they cannot know the full business impact of poor or unknown data quality or how to begin addressing it.
