Executive Summary

Recently research has been done on linear precoder design to minimize the receiver complexity. In the authors' work, they design the linear precoder for the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) wireless communication system with multiple antennas at the Base Station (BS) and users each with multiple receiver antennas. Previous works on linear precoder design assume that perfect Channel State Info(CSI) is available at the Base station. But channel estimation error is unavoidable, due to the presence of noise in the channel estimation and due to feedback quantization. In a system employing Time Division Duplexing (TDD), CSI can be obtained at the base station if there is reciprocity between the forward and reverse channels.
