Minimizing Key Storage in MANETs
Key management in mobile ad hoc networks is a challenging problem because of the storage constraint. By using the periodic property of cosine function, a light-weight key management scheme with minimized key storage is proposed in this letter. The performance evaluation and simulation results show that the authors' proposed scheme reduces key storage space and time consumption of key establishment than other key management schemes. Ad hoc networks are vulnerable to attacks due to the inherent features of wireless communications. Data encryption is a solution for secure communication, so it's significant to design a key management scheme for ad hoc networks.
