Mismatched CSI Outage Exponents of Block-Fading Channels

The authors study block-fading channels where both transmitter and receiver do not know the actual Channel State Information (CSI) but they have access to a noisy version. They study the interplay between estimation error variances at the transmitter and at the receiver to give the optimal outage exponents. They also demonstrate that achieving a reliable channel estimate at the receiver is more important than obtaining a reliable channel state information at the transmitter in terms of outage exponent.
