Model for Call Acceptance Based on Handoff Guarantees for Two Classes of Users
Providing desired Quality of Service (QoS) in cellular wireless networks is a challenging problem which is further magnified when considering more than one class of calls. In this paper, a novel adaptive Call Admission Control (CAC) scheme is proposed for two classes of calls for a cellular wireless network consisting of two cells. The proposed scheme accepts a new call if it can guarantee, with a certain probability, that a user's call will be maintained irrespective of its (his/her) movement in the system. The adaptive scheme for two-cell wireless network is then extended for multiple-cell network.
