In this paper, the authors present a model of a system that can be used to accurately determine the location of objects in a confined space, based on the Radio Interferometric Positioning System (RIPS). The system was designed to track spheres through a model of the Reactor Pressure Vessel of the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor. The design enables the system to be used for a variety of tracking applications, for example Location Based Services (LBSs). The system use measurements made using four anchor nodes (nodes with known position) to determine the position of mobile nodes.
