Network Coding (NC) is receiving more and more research attention since it is a promising technique to increase the network throughput for both wired and wireless networks. By exploiting the broadcast nature of the wireless channel, the conventional wireless NC proposed in, can significantly increase the network throughput as compared with the traditional non-NC transmission scheduling based scheme in multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks. The essential idea of conventional wireless NC can be explained as follows using a simple example.
