Multi-paths Routing with Load Balancing for Internet Access in Wireless Mesh Networks
Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN) has different characteristics compared with the mobile ad hoc networks (MANET). The issue of Internet access with wireless mesh connectivity is a very important issue in the design of WMNs. In this paper, authors propose a novel multi-paths routing framework for the Internet access through WMNs by using multiple access routers (ARs) simultaneously. Within this framework, an efficient load balancing scheme has been proposed to further increase the network performance. This load balancing scheme is named Reactive Load Balancing (RLB). Extensive simulation experiments have been carried out to validate the proposed solutions.
