In this paper, the authors investigated the application of Singular Value Decomposion (SVD) assisted multiuser transmission in a multicell scenario. The SVD based scheme is capable of completely removing the co-channel interference, similarly to the classic Zero Forcing (ZF) based and Block Diagonalization (BD) aided schemes. Two different power allocation schemes are investigated for both SVD, ZF and BD based multicell transmission. The SVD scheme achieves a suboptimal performance, but at a reduced complexity. Nonetheless, it always outperforms the ZF based scheme due to the joint reception of the transmitted symbols.
