Multimodal Biometrics: A Review

Biometric system comprises methods to examine the unique physical or behavioral traits that can be used to determine a person's identity. Fundamentally, it is a pattern recognition system which involves feature extraction and comparison of these features against the template set in a database. Multimodal biometric systems use more than one trait for person recognition. These systems are becoming more and more popular, even though they are complex than unimodal system due to the fact that they offer more accurate results in comparison to the unimodal systems.
