Neighbor Based Rebroadcasting for Vanet

Vehicle to Vehicle communication allows the driver of one vehicle to exchange information with others in the particular area. Motivation of this communication enhances traffic safety while driving and reduces the expenses spent on fuel. The major challenge of the Vehicular Adhoc NETwork (VANET) is reduced number of rebroadcasting and uses the medium particularly for emergency message communication. This paper presents Neighbor Based Rebroadcasting [NBR] designed for VANET, it is based on broadcasting techniques. Proposed NBR protocol selects a node based on proposed rebroadcasting node discovery algorithm. This technique allows a vehicle to find out its neighbors and their direction with help of hello messages, exchange message to all its neighbors and permits one neighbor from each direction to broadcast the message.
