Network Coding-Based Cooperative ARQ Scheme
In this paper, the authors introduce a novel Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) scheme for cooperative wireless networks. Their scheme adopts network coding techniques in order to enhance the total bandwidth of the network by minimizing the total number of transmissions. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated by means of computer simulations and compared to other cooperative schemes, while an analytical solution is provided to validate the results. Wireless communication has experienced an impressive growth during the last decades. Lately, new techniques such as cooperation among nodes and network coding have been introduced in order to improve the network's performance and provide the communication with robustness, diversity, higher data rates and security.
