In this paper, the mechanisms of on-body channel fading are physically observed in two measurement procedures. First is the far-field on-body antenna patterns aimed to investigate the effect of body surface on the antenna pattern by considering the antenna position on the medical health-care application of Body Area Network (BAN). Second, the measurement with a holder of two antennas is introduced to decompose the effect of antenna re-orientation due to body movement. The initial result summarized the effect of some physical channel mechanisms and will be followed to investigate the decomposition those aspects from the BAN channel models in the future studies.
