A construction of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signals with low Peak-to-Mean Envelope Power Ratio (PMEPR) using Golay sequences over a class of cross QAM constellations is presented. These cross constellations are specifically used when the number of bits per subcarrier of the OFDM system is an odd integer. It is shown that using Golay sequences over these cross constellations, one can increase the number of bits per subcarrier with a factor of 2:5, as compared to conventional QPSK constellation, while the PMEPR bound increases roughly with same factor.
