Network Coding (NC) has emerged in the last couple of years as a significant mechanism to improve network throughput as well as to efficiently utilize the bandwidth in communication networks. Applying NC on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN)s have shown that it can improve throughput by intelligently mixing network packets at the intermediate routers. Some of the approaches to mix packets of different sessions (Inter-session), in order to save bandwidth, have been particularly successful, both theoretically as well as with the experiments on test-bed.
