Optimal Scheduling for Roadside WLANs With Pre-Downloaded Messages
In this paper, data dissemination services are discussed in the context of Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs). In order to improve the efficiency of data dissemination, messages are network coded and pre-downloaded to the local nodes within the RoadSide WLANs (RS-WLANs) and then scheduled for transmission when a vehicle goes through the coverage area. The authors investigate the optimal scheduling problem for the pre-downloaded messages when a vehicle travels through a specific trajectory. Based on the given vehicle trajectory, resource allocation model, and message pre-downloading profile, the optimal scheduling problem is mathematically formulated.
