The authors developed a framework for constraint routing in multi-domain optical network which combines PCE with service plane. With the distributed routing computation characteristic of PCE and the adaptability of service plane for service attributes, the framework provides an optimal SLA-based constraint routing strategy. Experiment results verify their framework and strategy. Depending on Service Level Agreement (SLA), Traffic Engineering (TE) and cost/performance ratio goals, path computation requests may be issued differently for different services. There is an increasing of high performance applications and users who require network services beyond what are typically available on best effort infrastructures today.
