PDM Pricing Strategies
The process of acquiring a Product Data Management (PDM) solution is an arduous task. It begins with the establishment of the short, medium and long term requirements; followed by the time consuming evaluation of which PDM product will best meet these needs; then comes the detailed planning, planning and more planning of the phased implementation, most often to include a well thought out pilot activity; all of which is to be meticulously monitored to ensure continuous, effective use of this evolving and ever changing, process altering solution. The PDM products of today are moving more and more towards enterprise wide integration. The evolution of PDM vendors to provide an Enterprise Wide solution is not an easy task, nor is it an easy task for customers to justify. For this to be successful, all parties involved need to address their issues in a realistic manner.
