Penalty Based Heuristic Method using Continuous Double Auction in Computational Grid

In the Grid environment, resource consumers and resources providers are independent and are able to make autonomous decision for resource allocation which is a challenge. Using market-like techniques for this problem regulates the supply and demand for resources, provides an incentive for providers, and motivates the user to trade-off between deadline, budget, and the required level of quality of service. A Continuous Double Auction method for resource allocation in computational grids with penalty consideration (CDA) is proposed which allows the entities to make decisions autonomously and also executes all the jobs regardless of the deadline and provides the penalty amount to the user whose deadline is exceeded.
