Performance Analysis for Interior Gateway Protocols (I.G.Ps)

Routing is like the heart beat of the internet. The routing protocols fall into two categories: Interior Gateway Protocols (IGPs) and Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGPs). The authors' focus in this research is to study the working of Interior Gateway Protocols. Several interior gateway routing protocols exist now-a-day. But the most common ones are RIP, OSPF. Interior Gateway Protocols (IGPs) are used for interior or within an autonomous system routing where as the Exterior Gateway Protocols (EGPs) are used for routing between different autonomous systems. The material presented in this paper is to analyze performance of Interior Gateway Protocols (IGPs), especially in term of the traffic on nodes and convergence.
