Performance Analysis of Efficient and Geographic Multicast Routing Protocol for Mobile Adhoc Networks Using NS-2
Group Communication has become important in Mobile Adhoc NETwork (MANET). But because of its dynamic topology it is difficult to implement group communication in MANET. In order to implement group communication, Efficient Geographic Multicasting Protocol (EGMP) came into existence, the efficiency and scalability of the protocol was already tested using Global Mobile Simulation (GloMoSim), but this paper test the Bandwidth utilization, performance and delay in packet transmission by using Network Simulator-2 (NS-2), as NS-2 helps in finding the functionality of the protocol in real time environment, at lower cost. In this EGMP uses a MAC layer protocol IEEE 802.15.4 SSCS with the data rate of 250kbps and the radio frequency 2.4GHz.
