Performance Analysis of Intrusion Detection in MANET

A mobile ad hoc network is a collection of autonomous nodes or terminals which communicate with each other by forming a multi-hop radio network without the aid of any established infrastructure or centralized administration such as a base station. The ad hoc network provides lack of secure boundaries. At present, the security issues on mobile ad hoc network have become one of the primary concerns. The MANET is more vulnerable to attacks as compared to wired networks due to distributed nature and lacks of infrastructure. Those vulnerabilities are nature of the MANET structure that cannot be removed easily. As a result, attacks with malicious intent have been and will be devised to exploit those vulnerabilities and to cripple the MANET Operation.
