Performance Evaluation of IEEE 802.11e MAC Layer using Cell Processor
IEEE802.11e is a new 802.11 Wireless LAN (WLAN) standard, which supports applications with Quality of Service (QoS). It is widely considered to play a major role in multimedia wireless home networks. The cell broadband engine is new multicore microprocessor architecture for high performance computer applications. In this paper, the authors are trying to provide a simple simulator framework for IEEE 802.11e as well as its implementation in cell processor. The simulator will run in a uni-processor (x86) which will provide the performance evaluation of IEEE 802.11e MAC (Medium Access Control).
