Performance Evaluation of Multihopped Cognitive LANs
Disaster information network is very important for people in many countries, particularly in Japan because there are many serious disasters have occurred annually. So far the authors have developed a disaster information network based on wireless LANs because of their mobility, portability and easy installation. In order to improve the connectivity and to attain the longer communication distance, they introduce a dynamic network configuration based cognitive Radio LANs. Currently available wireless LANs such as IEEE802.11b, g, j, n, IEEE802.16, cellular network, personal wireless network are combined with a mobile router and loaded on a car to quickly build an emergency temporal disaster information network when the usual communication network infrastructure was seriously damaged.
