Performance Study on Handoff Delay and Packet Loss in Heterogeneous Mobile Wireless Network
The cellular network and LMR network frames the heterogeneous network called Disaster Responder Communication Network. Commercial cellular network provides higher service availability, more multimedia services and higher data rates. But Public Land Mobile Radio provides less service availability, less multimedia services and low data rates during the emergency communication by disaster responder for saving life. In commercial cellular network less service availability means less income. But in public safety arena, less service availability may loss lives. In this paper, the survey has taken from the various heterogeneous networks to optimize the handoff delay and packet loss. The Disaster Responder Communication Network use the traditional SIP based handoff and Seamless SIP based handoff scheme with the constraints of the handoff delay.
