A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is composed of a large number of sensor nodes with limited resources. Since WSNs could be deployed in a hostile environment, designing an efficient key establishment scheme is of great importance to the data security in WSNs. Unfortunately, when considering the extremely scarce resources available to each sensor node; the design of an efficient key establishment becomes a great challenge. Two classical Threshold-based Key Distribution (TKD) protocols are considered.
