Practical Performance Measurements and Analysis of IEEE 802.16 Networks

IEEE 802.16 standard defines the wireless broadband technology called WiMAX. When compared to other wireless technologies, it introduces many interesting advantages at PHYsical (PHY) and media access control (MAC) layers. The WiMAX technology based on air interface standard 802.16 wireless Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) is configured in the same way as a traditional cellular network with base stations using point to multipoint architecture to drive a service over a radius up to several kilometres.
