Keeping the enthusiasm and momentum going throughout the life of a project can be one of the greatest challenges for project managers. The kickoff is a great time for enthusiasm and generally the entire project team is ready to go and convinced they can do whatever it takes to complete the tasks of the project. However, over time that enthusiasm will wear off and the confidence can be shaken as issues or hurdles come up during the tasks of the project. As any job, day to day tasks may become mundane and project team members may become unmotivated and disgruntled. This can slow the project and threaten the project schedule as well as the successful completion of the tasks.
