Information security management and maturity goes side by side. With the growing popularity among the organization to go for the implementation of a structured security management, this also warrants attention of the security community not to escape with the burden of realizing the significance of a mature security management. Additionally, one can say that it is better not to have certified security management system than having immature system. Therefore this paper is endeavoring to highlight the various maturity models and also to analyze whether in reality that scales that are used to ascertain maturity of the security management have the capabilities to gauge the effectiveness and its maturity.
