Quantitative Evaluation of App Inventor in Cloud-Based Chess Programming

App Inventor for Android is a web-based visual programming language that allows non-technical users to program applications for mobile devices with an Android operating system. The authors used App Inventor to create a chess application to show the capabilities of cloud computing. App Inventor was used to create the User Interface (UI) of the chess application, while a chess engine was placed on Google's App Engine. Though App Inventor is a powerful tool, it still has some limitations. Their comprehensive analysis of App inventor includes a user experience as well as a quantitative analysis.
