Radar Cross Section (RCS) depends on the characteristic dimensions of the object compared to the radar wave length. The Radar Cross Section of the target determines the power density returned to the radar for a particular power density incident on the target. The cross section is more dependent on the target shape than its physical size. The radar antenna captures a portion of echo energy incident on it. Radar Cross Section fluctuates as a function of radar aspect angle and frequency.
