Region Based Query Processing in Wireless Sensor Networks
In Wireless Sensor Networks, nodes are subject to failure because of their non rechargeable batteries. When reading from individual node is encountered, it may yield noisy data. The effect of this can be reduced by making use of aggregated values of small group of sensors instead of the values of individual sensors. Preceding approaches involved aggregation with group that are disjoint, where some region relevant to the query can be missing. The proposed work deals with region based query processing, where a region is a maximal set of nodes located within a circle of diameter given in the query. For efficient construction of region a SEC (Smallest Enclosing Circle) index is built.
