Research Handover on Mobile IP
Combining the advantages of FMIPv6 and HMIPv6 (FHMIPv6) is more suitable for time - sensitive services. The authors propose an improvement based on it by optimizing the address configuration stage on MN (Mobile Node) and setting handover initiation stage on MAP (Mobility Anchor Point) so that the handover delay and packet loss is reduced. Their paper presents simulation result of these solutions (Hierarchical MIPv6, FHMIPv6 and optimized FHMIPv6) together in the testbed. In IP networks, routing is based on stationary IP addresses. A device on a network is reachable through normal IP routing by the IP address it is assigned on the network. When a device move away from its home network, it is no longer reachable by using normal IP routing.
