Executive Summary

In order to overcome the problem that are a single node of Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) in memory, processing power and the seriously limited of energy, based on the study of Wyner-Ziv, the authors propose the Wyner-Ziv Distributed image Compression algorithm of WMSNs for coal Mine. This paper used the pixel domain Wyner-Ziv video coding scheme to achieve a distributed video codec system, and made a deep analysis of system theory and performance. Simulation results show that the algorithm has low memory, low processing requirements, with very excellent network performance.
