There continues to be a very important relationship between IT resources and improved operational efficiencies/organizational effectiveness. IT solutions and applications have the greatest potential to provide new and better efficiencies to an organization. This potential is not enough, however. Competitive advantage is created by means of organizational agility. And being agile is a critical business ability that cannot be measured by ROI or TCO. It is possible to quantify the benefits of intangible assets such as organizational agility and IT architectures by evaluating real options.
