Robust Traffic Management Scheme For Wireless Ad-Hoc Network

Limited resources of nodes in MANETs force the extensive studies for energy-aware multipath routing protocols, which should provide the fault tolerance for broken links and the load balance for extending bandwidth and equalizing energy consumption. A cross layer approach is introduced for routing and MAC scheduling called RTMS (Robust Traffic Management Scheme for Wireless Ad-Hoc Network). Establishing the loop-free route in RTMS and real-time packets forwarded along these routes are shown to have bounded end-to-end delays. RTMS has better performance than existing protocol STORM in terms of energy and load balancing. A new function is introduced for energy constraint. The energy constraint is directly proportional to the residual battery capacity of intermediate nodes themselves.
