Romanian Business Assessment and Proposals for Improvement Related Legislation
In the context of current financial crisis, the Romanian Government adopted measures to increase taxes, a policy that has hit the sector of small and medium sized enterprises. As far as the authors are concerned, they consider that increased taxation leads to reducing the number of companies able to pay these debts, but also to the growth of subterranean economy. In this paper, they argue the need to support the SME sector on the institutional, legal and financial field. They believe that providing tax facilities would lead to revival of the activity of SME sector and would increase the investment process, particularly in manufacturing and services area.
