Satellite Internet Connection for Rural Broadband

This paper examines the question: Can satellite Internet connections deliver adequate broadband service to rural America? The answer has serious social and economic implications because the future of rural communities in America that lack adequate access to broadband Internet connections does not look bright. The millions of Americans who live and do business in those communities are increasingly disadvantaged by the world's growing reliance on high-speed, high-capacity broadband connections for the delivery of information, digital work product, communications, healthcare, and education.
