Executive Summary

There are two kinds of saw operators namely chainsaw operators, who work outdoors and are responsible for the felling and crosscutting of trees, and sawmill machine operators, who work in a sawmill where logs are cut into sawn products. Physical fitness and good health are very important. The work of chainsaw operators requires a lot of physical effort and good judgment. Saw-operators must have a strong sense of responsibility and must be able to make decisions independently. Most plantation owners require that prospective chain-saw operators must be at least 20 years of age. Employment possibilities exist at most plantations or sawmills. Saw machine operators usually work for companies, both large and small.
