Mobile ad-hoc networks having no fixed Infrastructure and without any physical connections of mobile devices such as laptop etc. Due to mobility of nodes, interference, multipath propagation and path loss, MANET has no fixed topology. Hence, MANET has to need dynamic routing protocols for these networks to function properly for delivering the data packets from source node to desired destination. This property of the nodes makes the mobile ad hoc networks unpredictable from the point of view of scalability and topology. In general, routing protocols for MANETs are designed based on the assumption that all participating nodes are fully cooperative.
